I'm Chandler. I make jokes when I'm uncomfortable. Matthew Perry has died.

The "Friends" star drowned on Saturday at his home in Los Angeles, according to multiple reports.

Paramedics reportedly found the actor unresponsive in his hot tub. For now, his cause of death is unknown, but TMZ sources claim there's no evidence of foul play and no drugs were found at the scene.

That's the actor's last Instagram post, just days ago. He's in a pool, looking relaxed during a night swim. And here's one of Matthew's final outings, dinner with friends last weekend in LA. Matthew was 54 years old.

After many small roles and short-lived shows, Matthew hit it big when he was cast in what's become one of the greatest sitcoms of all time.

It's very strange to get out of a car and have everybody scream, and it be a good thing. But it's very strange, but it's fun," Matthew once said.

I felt like I was going to die if they didn't laugh, and it's not healthy for sure.

But I would sometimes say a line and they wouldn't laugh, and I would sweat and go into convulsions if I didn't get the laugh I was supposed to get. I would freak out."

In later years, Matthew brought his hidden demons into the spotlight, opening up about his drug addiction and personal struggles behind the scenes.

You get into a place in your life where you're having a problem, and you either lie down about it or step up to bat and take your swing.

And that's what I did. It wasn't really a choice, it was just what I had to do," he said.
